Freddie Mac's results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey® shows that "Primary Mortgage Market Survey® (PMMS®) results are based on the mortgage rate collected from thousands of loan applications submitted to Freddie Mac through Loan Product Advisor® (LPA®) from lenders across the country when a borrower applies for a mortgage." • 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 6.18 percent for the week ending December 30, 2025, down from last month when it averaged 6.23 percent. A year ago, at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.85 percent. • 15-year FRM this week averaged 5.5 percent, down from last month when it averaged 5.51 percent. A year ago, at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 6 percent.
